The Academy of Human Development (ACAHUDEV) over the weekend launched its maiden graduation ceremony after 22 years of existence. According to the director, Rev. Dr Ellen Nelly Oteng, this has been a long time coming. However, as the maiden edition has seen the light of the day, the public and stakeholders of the institution should expect consequent ones.
The event held on Saturday, March 5, 2021, saw the Sunyani Branch Manager of Ghana Commercial Bank, Mr Daniel Oteng, the National Deputy Nasara Coordinator, Hon. Ayisha Yussif who were together, the chairman and supporter respectively, among other guests.

It honoured twenty-two graduates of ACAHUDEV for the immeasurable effort and achievements they have made so far in their academic journey. The institution seized the opportunity to wish them well as they take a step further in their academic pursuit. Among other benefits, they received remarkable awards including the Overall Best Student and Best BECE Score.
In detail, Divine Boni received the overall Best Student award while Hajia Humu received the Best BECE score for scoring aggregate 7 in the 2021 BECE.
The director of the institution explained that the factors that go into the Overall Best Student award form the core values upon which the founder built Academy of Human Development. According to her, among the finalists, the management looks at who gives good counsel among the peers, who has good conduct and character. So, in a nutshell, conduct, counsel and character is the basis for awarding such a prestigious award.

To make it more graceful, the chairman of the graduation ceremony revealed the envious prizes these students par excellence are entitled to. Mr Oteng Ampofu stated that the Overall Best Student recipient is entitled to a cash prize reward while the Best BECE scorer will have provided for, all necessities needed for her first year in the Senior High. It’s quite interesting to note that the Best BECE Scorer is the daughter of the National Nasara Deputy Coordinator.
Moreover, he revealed that in consequent ceremonies, there will be adjustments in prizes as the maiden edition is just to set the ball rolling.

All the attendants present on the premises of Academy of Human Development on that day left with one clear perception. Thus, the graduation ceremony was colourful and successful.
There were intermittent performances from the school’s cultural troupe and the choir. The chorographers also did their magic as they thrill their parents and guardians with unending crazy dance moves.

Currently, ACAHUDEV is looking forward to its December graduation tailored for both the continuing students and the current finalists.

The Academy of Human Development was established in September 2000 by the founder of Baptist International, Bishop Francis Yaw Conong Oteng. The school is one of the best in the Ningo Prampram District. Bishop Oteng, a disciplinarian understood the need to tailor education to meet the needs of the society as well as inculcating into wards the core values of humanity.

As a visionary leader, he raised the school to a level that became the paragon of excellent academia in the district. Upon his demise in 2021, his daughter, Rev. Dr Ellen Nelly Oteng has taken the mantle as the Director to continue with the actualization of the visions of the founder.
ACAHUDEV is located in Afienya and it has a history of excellent grades. In 2019, the school had the best grade for the district with six ones. And in 2021, one had aggregate 7, and three had aggregate 9 with the rest ranging from aggregate 10 to 25.
