3Music Awards is still in the process of making its scheme catchy and profiting for musicians. Boomplay is the current platform to ink deal with the award scheme for its Breakthrough Act of the Year category.
A few days ago, 3Music partnered with the giant music distributor, TuneCore for the Most Streamed Song and the Most Streamed Act of the Year categories. It also stated that the partnership will earn promotional deals for the winners of the categories from the distributor.
However, the partnership with Boomplay has a lot of importance as well. The winners of the sponsored category will receive a valuable promotional package from the largest music downloading and streaming service in Africa. Interestingly, the packaging includes marketing the content of the winner in all Boomplay operating countries. These countries include Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania.
On why the partnership with Boomplay, the CEO of 3Media Networks, the organisers of 3Music Awards says “Boomplay has been an ally for years and we are excited that in our 4th year, we still get to partner with them for the Breakthrough Act of the Year among others.”
“We see this as a validation of all the amazing work we have been putting into the scheme and an avenue to once again open more windows of opportunity to the Ghanaian musician.” Sadiq Abdulai Abu explained.
Also, the General Manager for Boomplay Ghana, Elizabeth Ntiamoah about her organization’s involvement with 3Music Awards says that “We as a team are very excited to be a part of this year’s 3Music Awards and particularly a category that is centred on growth and the highlight of young, innovative and talented artists who are looking to change the game and take our music above and beyond. I believe our involvement will go a long way to benefiting both parties, the artistes and fans as this is directly in line with how passionate Boomplay is about legitimately pushing the music from our continent.”
The 4th edition of the annual awards takes place in the capital of Ghana, Accra on the 27th of March, 2021.
