The beast of beats, Mix Master Garzy has stepped in to defend his motherland as it’s been sent to the gutters by some industry players and admirers as the Ghanaian music industry and Grammy Awards are like parallel lines.
Over the night, celebrities and music lovers have set Twitter uproar after two Nigerian acts, Burna Boy and Wizkid get awards in the 2021 edition of Grammy. Right there, there were some subtle shades thrown at the Ghanaian counterparts.
That is where Mix Master Garzy stepped in. According to him, the population of Nigerian alone beats Ghana. Thus, 1% of its populace give their support to a particular act, it would be like 10% in Ghana.
Emphatically, he said “Lagos population alone is almost the same as Ghana or maybe over. Know how you compare NG and GH. Ghana is doing very well. Let’s push forward.”
So, to him, Ghana isn’t doing badly either, therefore the critics should know how to compare Nigeria and Ghana. That’s because Lagos alone has a population almost as entire Ghana.
As of 2019, Ghana has a population of 30.42 million while Nigeria had 201 million. Incredibly, the producer Mix Master Garzy has been in the giant economy in West Africa often times working with acts like Davido and others.
Briefly, he meant to say, the population counts. Nigerian acts have recognition for awards because when it comes to voting, they have the numbers in their country alone if fans in other countries even won’t vote.
However, Samini also thinks Nigerian are doing well because they don’t disrespect Idibia as Stonebwoy disrespects him. Unfortunately, that was a jab for 1GAD when he congratulated Nigeria and shook his head for Ghana.
