“When Twitter makes your tweet a billboard in Madina,” the excited M.anifest shared the update on his timeline.
Mdot tweeted “Waakye might be better than Jollof to me but I still dey chop the two all cause they both dey jom. Don’t let comparison steal your joy.”
Just like Twitter, many people see the post as very fascinating as they read diverse interpretations of it. One interpretation that caught our attention was comparing Jollof and Waakye to women. Thus, both fair and dark skin women are…well, your guess is as good as ours.
But wait, M.anifest had no such underlying inspiration for the post right? The rapper released his 5th studio album this year. Ever since the release, the artist has featured on international platforms like BBC and others as he fed airwaves with the breakdown of some contents on the album.
Twitter didn’t make any mistake in pulling up the billboard in Madina.
After all, that’s the dwelling place for the rapper with excellent diction. And yes, the inspiration behind the album is to project the suburb of Accra that lies within La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal District to the rest of the world.
“Madina is ‘my village’ within ‘my city. A formative place for me as a child. Beyond memory is where my mom and grandma still live, alongside colourful people and places that have shaped the window through which I see the world.” M.anifest stated this while dropping the tracklist of the album.
Carving a special niche classified as intellectuals for himself, everything M.anifest is decorated with class. And on most of his quotes, the comments that flood in the section all goes like “deep, deep.”
Certainly, Twitter fell for it too for having featured it on its billboard initiative. However, there is a couple of billboards the giant social media platform has mounted in the country. Selected tweets have been brought to life.
Another aside from Mdot’s post, there is also “Lapaz traffic is the only thing standing between me and enjoyment.”
“Kelewele is a snack and must be sold at the cinema.” These and many more others.
The initiative is to create awareness that Twitter Ghana is officially in the country as they made an official announcement about their coming from the beginning of the year.
