“1 year already!! Thank you for riding with me. I’m just very grateful for all the love and blessings. 🖤❤️😇promised not to make you wait too long for the next one. “More Love Less Ego” dropping on the last day of tour! I love you!
Within one week of release, Made in Lagos broke several African streaming records. The album became the first African album to debut on the Spotify Global Album chart, debuting within the top ten. Moreover, it surpassed 100 million streams across five platforms nine days after release. Incredibly, that’s a rare milestone for Afro-pop artists.
Besides, it debuted at number 15 on the UK Albums Chart with over 4,100 album-equivalent units and number 80 on the US Billboard 200 with over 10,000 album-equivalent units. Following the release of the deluxe edition, the album sold an additional 17,000 units in the United States. It peaked at number 28 on the US Billboard 200.
It featured mainstream international acts such as Justin Bieber, Ella Mai, Buju and others.
Wizkid supported the growth of the album by embarking on Made In Lagos Tour 2021/2022. This involved travelling around Brooklyn, Chicago, Miami and London which will probably climax the tour on 29 November 2021. Perhaps, that is the date he will release More Love Less Ego.
